Upcoming Performances in United States

Updated: Oct 28, 2020

Next week, Thomas Pandolfi kicks off the fall season with performances at the University of Southern Maryland, Warner Robbins Community Concert Series in Georgia, and a Masterclass series at M Institute for the Arts.

Beginning in October, Pandolfi will be in a performance at the University of Southern Maryland with an all Chopin and Pandolfi program, including one of the first public appearances of his original and virtuosic transcription of Gershwin's songs. "I grew up with Gershwin's music and it's always had special meaning to me," says Pandolfi. "But Gershwin's own transcriptions of his songs are not virtuosic enough for the recital stage. I decided to make my own transcription medley to celebrate these great songs in a whole new pianistic way. The transcriptions starts off rather lightly with, "The Man I Love" and build over time, thundering to an end with a excerpt from "An American in Paris." I love playing it, and I hope the audience enjoys this new pieces also," says Pandolfi.
